The Royal Kona Resort Lu’au is right at the base of the Royal Kona Resort along the shore and is open to everyone (paying customers, of course).  This Lu’au is known for its drumbeats that can be heard throughout Kona on Lu’au nights.   The sound is part of the Kona night life fabric.

This Luau is known as the Voyagers of the Pacific Luau.  There is the traditional Hawaii meal of Kalua Pork, Island Fish, Hawaiian Sweet Potatoes and Mai Tai’s to go around with their open bar.  After the traditional meal is the Hawaiian dancing to tell the story and history of the islands.  Like all the shows you get to see the awesome fire-knife dance.

The Royal Kona Luau can be at times a bit on the edge of what you would want your husband or child appropriate.  Not over the top but if this is a concern for you the Island Breeze Luau is perhaps a better option.
