Hapuna BeachRated The Best Beach in the US!

This beach is regularly rated as the best beach in all of the US!  It truly is one of the finer beaches.  With a 1/2 mile long stretch of golden sand, warm waters, great boogie boarding and lots of room to set up your sunbathing spot for the day, it truly is a beach worth visiting.  Unlike many of the nicer beaches that take navigating through the gates of high-end resorts, Hapuna Beach has easy access parking (for a fee of a couple of dollars) and is complete with restroom facilities.  The path to the beach is paved and opens up on beautiful sand.  Once you get there you realize this beach is perfect for many activities–volleyball, snorkeling, boogie-boarding, building castles and more.

The hotel near the beach is located on the far north end and does not have the feel of interfering with the regular beach-goers.  It is also public access so no need to worry about hotel staff overlooking you (in fact all beaches in Hawaii are public access).  But do know that the beach furniture at the far northern part is reserved for hotel guests.

You really can’t go wrong to spend an afternoon or a day here.  It’s beautiful, peaceful and a perfect way to spend your vacation!

The entrance to Hapuna is on Highway 19 right at mile marker 69.   If you are staying in Kona it is about 30 miles north.
