The Haleo Luau is located on the grounds of the Sheraton Inn and historically, on the playground of the Kings. Not too far from this location Royalty would slide down the hillside on grass sleds reaching up to 60 mph. But that’s for another day.
Upon arrival at the Haleo Luah you will be welcomed with a shell lei and seated at your dinner table. The feast is the traditional Hawaii feast of Kalua pig, Ahi, Poke and an open bar. After feasting on traditional Hawaiian dishes, guests can take a small class on hula dancing that you can take back to your friends.
When the show starts, the dancing is not just the beauty and color of the islands but it is story-telling. This particular luau pays tribute to King Kamehameha III who was born at Keauhou Bay. It also tells the story of the battles and history as well as surfing in the waves. The evenings ends with the fire-knife dance.
